CPCC Director 牧民中心主任

Fr. Simon Jin

Graduated in July 2003 from Shanghai Sheshan Seminary, and ordained in Shanghai in December of the same year. In 2014, he was appointed by his bishop to further his studies and training in the United States, and went on to graduate from The Catholic University of America with a Master's of Science degree in Ecclesial Administration and Management. While studying English in San Francisco, he was invited to join Holy Name Parish, where he held multiple roles as Parochial Vicar, Director of the Chinese Ministry, and Chaplain at San Francisco General Hospital's multi-faith Sojourn Chaplaincy. In October 2019, Fr. Simon was invited by the Diocese of Oakland to serve as the Director of the Chinese Pastoral and Cultural Center.

Fr. Simon's other accomplishments reflect his ardent interest in the liturgical arts, which include serving as Conductor of the Sheshan Seminary Choir for two years, publishing two editions of the Hymn book "Carmina Coelestia Viatorum", and working on several Liturgical Architectural Projects as Design Consultant. Through the Catholic church's various forms of traditional liturgical arts, he hopes to bring people closer to the origin of beauty – God.
